How do I change my nameservers and what do I change them to?

To use our hosting, you need to first purchase a domain name through a domain name provider. They will provide you with a control panel through which you can set your DNS nameservers for your domain to point to the Acorn Host server. This will allow people to access your website files that are hosted on our server by typing in your domain name.

Login to your domain administration control panel and look for something that says “Change DNS Nameservers” or “Use your own Nameservers”. You will want to delete whatever is there and replace it with the nameserver values that were sent to you in your welcome email. They will look something like this:

nsX.acornhost.com
nsY.acornhost.com
where X and Y are numbers.

After 2-5 hours (although it sometimes takes longer), your domain should resolve to the Acorn Host servers.

Please note that you do NOT change your DNS in Cpanel. You need to find the control panel that your domain registrar sent you when you purchased your domain from them. Acorn Host does not sell domains, and you must purchase them from a domain name registrar.
